New York Knicks guard John Starks has torn cartilage in his knee and will be sidelined from three to eight weeks, the team announced Saturday night after a 96-88 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Starks twisted his left knee Wednesday against Atlanta and stayed in the game. He missed Friday's victory at Boston and Saturday's game.Starks will undergo arthroscpic surgery Monday, and the procedure will reveal the extent of the damage.
